Privacy Policy
How Alter Analytics handles your personal data.
Last updated: June 2026
Alter Analytics, based in Nijmegen, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@alteranalytics.com.
What data do we collect?
When you fill in the contact form on this website, we process the following data:
- Name
- Email address
- Organization (optional)
- Subject and message
We do not collect data through cookies or tracking. This website uses Simple Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that places no cookies and processes no personal data. Simple Analytics only stores anonymous statistics such as page view counts. More information: simpleanalytics.com/privacy.
Why do we process this data?
We use your contact details solely to respond to your message and, where relevant, to discuss our services. The legal basis for this processing is your consent (submitting the form).
How long do we retain your data?
We retain your data for a maximum of one year after the last contact, unless you request deletion earlier.
Do we share your data?
Your data is processed through Netlify Forms (Netlify, Inc., United States). Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and applies appropriate security measures. Your data is not sold or shared with any other third parties.
Data within research engagements (ONA)
In addition to website visitors’ data, our engagements involve processing personal data of our clients’ employees, such as responses to network questionnaires (who collaborates with whom, who turns to whom for advice). For this processing your organization acts as the data controller and Alter Analytics as the processor.
We apply the following principles:
- Pseudonymization. Personal data is pseudonymized early in the process; the key is stored separately and securely.
- Data minimization. We collect no more data than the research question requires.
- Identifiability by agreement. Whether reporting is anonymous (at the level of patterns and teams) or by name is agreed with the client in advance; participants are informed before they take part.
- Retention by agreement. Which data is collected, for what purpose, and how long it is retained is set out per engagement in advance.
- Data processing agreement. Where we process personal data on behalf of your organization, we conclude a data processing agreement.
Our approach follows the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity and the GDPR. Read more on our Privacy & integrity page.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. Please send an email to contact@alteranalytics.com. We will respond within two weeks. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
